what comics am i getting on this incredibly slow week and why?

yeah just

shield 5 still an amazing book and i’ve said it before it’s like the da vinci code in the marvel universe. there mr hickman put that quote on the cover! Oh and look at this cover. every cover of these books is like a piece of artwork i could hang on my wall and smile as i pass it everyday.

my second choice is avengers earth’s mightiest heroes 2. i’ve slowly begun to realise that as much as i like the dark, gritty deconstruction of heroes i just love light hearted fun.

I was recently at my little cousins house and he was watching avengers. as i sat there thinking about the direction and type of character they’ve turned hank pym into and how thor’s portrayed well. But then i stopped and thought this is wonderfully light hearted. the villians don’t have to throw a baby out a window, no one’s swearing and i thought i wish more comics were like this. So as one reader of comics and lover of this industry i have to say. As much as i love then seriousness and dark and realistic takes on characters or deconstruction of heroic archetypes. i’ll still always want a world where the skies are primary colours, were someone can make a joke during a fight were heroes are praised and not sued for blowing up a building thanks for reading and i await your opinion on the matter.

superman and batman can’t exist in the same universe

he’s thinking “no boy scout in dark knight rises”

Recently christopher nolan said “superman and batman cannot exsist in the same universe” and like most fanboys my kneejerk reaction was “WTF of course they can look at 70 years of continuity” but then i thought about it and creatively they can’t.

now i know how contreversial that statement is but think about it they can’t.
Here are 2 men who both fight crime yet in one city darkseid can attack every other week or a villian can throw a dumper truck at a hospital, cops wear armor and can shoot parisite with lasers. And in another it’s dark there’s drug dealers being beaten up and cops are just cops, no one throws cars no one leaps tall buildings with single bounds a crashing plane isn’t caught it just crashes but a mob boss never gets away.

In terms of tone as well batman won’t go out in day and superman rarely at night. You have a murderous psycopaths

Superman films should be about peoples problems blown up to heroic level mythological level even e.g. having a den but the den’s a crystal ice palace in the artic, having friends but they live in the future and expanding them you know lois dosen’t understand .

Batman films should be about taking super heroic themes i.e. fighting a guy who’s in a mask or driving on rooftops or jumping off buildings, taking those ideas those themes and brigning them down to a realistic level.
So therethore they cannot exist side by side or even on the same plane of reality

BUT…. and this is only hypothetically.But a director with a good script and some good ideas behind him might pull it off. Zack synder for example currently signed on to direct superman (can’t wait to see lex luthor’;s head being ripped off, as blood splatters at the camera in slow motion) could he make a superman vs batman film work. Anyway what are your opinions? i do love audience participation join the debate. is nolan right? who could direct supes vs bats? start commenting

ideas for comics symbol

and so symbol was born, His father was a general who had hoped his son to be the next “captain america” (i plan on doing several 60′s archetypes of different heroes including cap and a few others i’ve got an origin but no name yet) so he got him the best education,the best training he even put him up for experiments to recreate the conditions for the “super-soilders”. As a burning hatred for his father and a rebellious streak for anarky. He started going to protests at the age of 19 he started going to protests with his friends. They are shot on sight impervious to bullets he dosen’t die he then heads to his father and confronts him (scene above). His father asks him to leave he punches him in the face and the general sets security on him.

Two nights later a dirty cop is found beaten to a pulp next to a capital A on the wall symbolising anarky on the streets.

symbol’s base is an unused bunker as his father was high up in the military he knows where certain bunkers are. his cape is a flexible bullet proof material hidden under the fabric his car is an austin avenger and that’s preety much it please tell me what you think of his origin now that it’s written down i’m not so sure. thanks to Deemar and phil who’re doing some art ideas or even villians D did all the villians on that piece of work i have some of my own villian ideas i’ll post later if you want to name him post it in the comments section or tweet me what you want him to be called but for now here’s symbol in all his Deemar and Phil glory.

Now most people hate the 60′s batman t.v. show but their are things i like about it. it was sycadelic it was funny and it was the first real superhero parody that the internet is full of

now come on be honest one of those made you laugh if only a little bit now the 60′s are long dead but they’ll always be somethings that make you go “wow either they’re just having a laugh or they were on some really good drugs” batman and robin is an example of that.

but luckily we have batman brave and the bold to keep alive that brilliant show and it gave us adam west

What would you do with superpowers?

if i had x-ray vision i'd never have it off

ok so at some point in our life we’ve all said wouldn’t it be amazing to fly,be super strong,have super speed. but i’ve often wondered about what would people do if they were more powerful than a locamotive or leap tall buildings with a single bound or run faster than a speeding bullet.

So i pose this question to you dear reader if you gained superpowers be it from a power ring,a mutation, or a blast of gamma radiation.

would you a) become a symbol of hope and faith throught the world and always put the down trodden and the needy before yourself be a real life superman but not make a profeit just help beacause people need help and keep your identity a secret to protect the people you love and beacause you don’t want praise ?

b)would you be a hero but sellout and make billions in corporate sponsers and merchandising and reveal your identity to the populace just for a quick buck?

or c) work for your government to try and serve your country and protect it’s best interests?

personally i would like to say hero and try to save the world but i don’t know if someone sued me and i doubt i could keep the whole double life up for long i don’t know what i’d do.

batman arkham city

now let me just say i loved the first batman arkham asylum game and you’ve seen the teaser trailer you’ve played the first game and now dc has realesed the name of the arkam asylum sequal ARKHAM CITY ok it not that bad but the teaser looks good at afterwards i’ll give my thoughts on the trailer

So the teaser trailer came out 7 months ago and fast acting as this blog is i’m going to give my opinion on the trailer and what i think the game plot will be.

so after seeing the teaser i think this i’ll be like gotham turf war. the supergansters (super-gansters like supervillians but all they care about is money and have gangs like blackmask,penguin,etc.) so for example as you see the “i want you” poster this is of two face who wants any escaped inmates from gotham as in the story the man who laughs joker breaks all the inmates out of arkham or in batman begins to create chaos they break all the inmates out of arkham and this is much easier as they now have moved the asylum to the gotham suburbs as in the first game it was destroyed by rioting inmates.

So if you look you see an inmate being thrown out of the window and you see people fighting down past the iceberg lounge around a fire.
now in the gang wars storyline to cope with the gangwar he rallies a batman family army with nightwing and tim drake and a hole host of batman’s allies so that could work well and be able to change around characters. now in the poster you see catwoman and in the teaser you see catwoman. if you look closely you can see a yellow sign which from an angle resembles an R for robin.

so now for the sum up this game i believe will be set with riots breaking out all across gotham and batman having to call in back-up maybe you’ll get to drive around gotham in free play in the bat-mobile that’ll be good.you can even use detective mode to find out where villians are throughout the city. but the plot is that quincy sharp takes credit for the apprehensio of the joker and uses this as the drivig force of his political campaign to become mayor. after becoming mayor sharpe buy’s out a large part of the cities slums (as neither blackgate or arkham are sutable for housing prisoners) after this he let’s the inmates run free inside the prison walls so havoc and chaos insue and batman must save the city. overall i can’t wait and think if this game is half as good as the original it will rock!
